How to use translation files?

To make translation changes to your theme you will need:
1. Installed one of our themes that supports language changes
2. Access to your server via FTP software like FileZilla, Total Commander,…
3. Poedit software which you can download from here

First thing you need to do is access your wordpress installation via FTP and in wp-content folder open wp-config.php.
Go to line 72 and find define(‘WPLANG’, ”); now add ‘language’ so it looks like on picture

Save the file and upload it back on server.

Next you need to navigate to wp-content/themes/themename/language/ folder.
Download language.po and language.mo on to your hard drive.

Open language.po in Poeditor and search for lines you wish to edit.
Select the line and in bottom box enter translation

After you have changed everything you wanted click on validate and then save your file.
When you save language.po changes will also be made to language.mo file

Access your wordpress installation and upload both files back in wp-content/themes/themename/language/ folder.

Instructions below are only for users that are using wordpress in language different than English.

If your wordpress installation is in some other language and not English than you should see that in wp-config.php on line 72 your code looks something like this: define(‘WPLANG’, ‘de_DE’);

Leave this option and don’t make the change to wp-config.php that is mentioned before.

Follow other steps and after uploading your translated files rename them to de_DE.po and de_DE.mo
FIle name needs to be same as text you have in wp-config.php
